Maria Furniture Terms and Conditions — at Maria Furniture, our sofa returns policy in Northern Ireland follows UK law and provides a clear 14-day return guarantee on refurbished sofas and armchairs. In addition, these terms explain your rights and responsibilities for showroom and online purchases.

  • 14 days from delivery to request a return (distance purchases).
  • Item must be returned in the same condition as received.

Maria Furniture Terms and Conditions and our Returns & Refund Policy apply to refurbished sofas in Northern Ireland. It explains customer rights, refunds, warranty terms, and return costs. In addition, it shows what is eligible for return and what is not, so you can order with confidence.

In-Store Purchases – Maria Furniture Terms and Conditions

Customers are encouraged to view and test sofas in our Mallusk showroom before purchase. Therefore, in-store purchases are generally non-refundable except at our discretion or if the item is faulty. However, personal preference (size, colour, comfort) is not grounds for return.

Online & Distance Orders – Returns Policy (NI)

For online or telephone orders, customers can cancel within 14 days of delivery. You must return items in the same condition you received them. If a sofa shows excess wear, damage or misuse, we will deduct reasonable costs from the refund. Therefore, please check the item carefully and handle it responsibly. In other words, returns must be suitable for resale after inspection.

Return transport costs are the responsibility of the customer. You may arrange your own courier. Alternatively, you can request a paid collection through our delivery partners if that service is available.

Not Eligible for Return – Returns & Refund Policy

  • Sofas that are too large for your space or do not fit through doorways/hallways.
  • Personal preference regarding style, colour or comfort (for in-store purchases only).
  • Sofas damaged after delivery — such as by pets, moving, neglect, or third-party handling.

Damaged on Delivery – Maria Furniture Terms and Conditions

Customers must report any delivery or condition issues within 24 hours of receiving the item and include photos. If damage occurred during our delivery, we will arrange a return or repair at our cost. As a result, your statutory rights remain fully protected.

Return Transport & Costs – Returns Policy (NI)

  • Customers are responsible for returning sofas to our warehouse.
  • We can arrange a paid collection if available; however, we do not guarantee this service.
  • Our standard rate is £2 per mile (from BT36 4TY) plus a £50 handling fee.
  • In addition, we may apply extra charges if access involves stairs or is otherwise difficult.
This Returns & Refund Policy makes clear that Maria Furniture does not cover return costs. Consequently, please consider this before placing an order. However, if an item is faulty or not as described, your statutory rights still apply.

Warranty Policy – Maria Furniture Terms and Conditions

All sofas include a 7-day warranty covering issues from our refurbishing. Repairs by our service are covered for 4 weeks. After this period, we can still carry out repairs at a reasonable cost. In conclusion, your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

PayPal Purchases – Returns & Refund Policy

Clearpay Purchases – Returns & Refund Policy

Purchases made using Clearpay are subject to Clearpay’s own terms and conditions. Clearpay provides a payment plan agreement between the customer and Clearpay.

Refunds for returned items will be processed in line with Clearpay policies once the sofa has been returned and inspected. However, customers remain responsible for return transport costs unless the item is faulty.

Stripe & Card Payments – Returns & Refund Policy

Card payments processed via Stripe are handled securely by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Refunds for eligible returns will be issued to the original payment method once the returned sofa has been received and inspected.

Processing times for refunds depend on the card provider and may take 3–10 working days to appear on your statement. Nevertheless, this does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
